Position Overview
The Digital Press Operator is responsible for all aspects of operating large format digital printing equipment to Imagine production and quality standards. Daily activity will include material handling and finishing.

 

Shift: Sunday - Thurday, 10:45pm - 7:15am

Responsibilities
Responsible for digital production on the digital printer device related to quality and insuring they meet print performance related to ink adhesion, curing, color control and will withstand finishing method specified. Ensures prints are free from defects such as streaks, fingerprints, dirt, ink blotches and scratches.
Uses internal database systems to track jobs and record all production specifications related to printer settings, quantities, stock usage and color profiles. Fills out appropriate job ticket paperwork accurately.
Performs regularly scheduled maintenance procedures on equipment. Gains advanced equipment knowledge in order to troubleshoot equipment related problems.
Communicates and comprehends simple instructions to and from other shifts or departments. Is aware of overall department workload and assists in other areas of the department during peak times while keeping the press productive.
Gain an in-depth understanding of the RIP programs including color profiles, replacement of spot colors, manual layouts, and general image manipulation including sizing, rotation, and mirroring. Performs Quality Check prior to ripping jobs to verify size, color profile, resolution, replaced colors, and ensures job is laid out properly on sheet.
Specific Daily Activities and Expectations

Performs Daily Maintenance routine on Equipment and work area.
Maintains printheads following detailed cleaning instructions and safety precautions.
Wipes down outside of printers.
Removes all ink build up or tape residue from print bed or cleaning stations.
Disposes of all scrap and trash.
Empties trash cans and dumpsters.
Maintains a clean and safe working environment by organization of printed and raw materials, sweeping and mopping work area as needed.

Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications of Position

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications: 

Ability to read and understand tape measure and other measurement equipment 
Seeing color
Basic Math skills
Data entry
General Computer Skills
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
Frequent walking and standing
Chemicals: Will work with non-harsh chemicals that safety gloves and safety glasses are required for a small amount of time each day.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally and will need team lifts from time to time.

$22 - $27 an hour
