Reporting to the Senior Art Director, you will be responsible for concepting creative for all digital platforms in both Spanish and English. The ability to deliver concise and compelling design in both languages — and a proven track record of reaching Latino audiences in the digital and/or broadcast space — are musts. The flexibility to adapt to the frequently shifting priorities and demands of a political organization is key. 

Here’s what you’ll do:

    • Partner with copywriters, designers, and producers on all assigned briefs to concept and execute exceptional creative with a focus on art direction, visual treatment, and graphic design in both English and Spanish. You will work against creative briefs to help come up with visual concepts for all sorts of digital creative including 30, 15, 06s videos, static social creative, and display ads. 
    • Oversee creative concepts from ideation to execution and ensure all assets are beautiful, compelling, and culturally competent for a wide array of audiences, including Latinx audiences. You’re a hands-on art director who can direct as well as you can design.
    • Consult with analytics, and paid media teams to gather strategic information and determine the best creative approach, then create messaging and tone that is compelling and on-strategy. 
    • Review Spanish-language work from outside partners and provide feedback with specific attention to fluency and cultural competency. 
    • Communicate with diverse groups, work with a multicultural workforce, and bring a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest news, creative trends and competitive campaigns. 

You have:

    • Vision. You’ve got a proven record of making evocative creative for diverse audiences and a deep understanding of the knowledge copy in all the ways it shows up online. You’re a talented hands-on creative, who is a highly conceptual thinker, loves the written word and can concept and execute beautiful ideas from strategic briefs. You are ideas driven and have a sharp perspective on how to capture people’s attention on social media or on streaming platforms.
    • A deep, nuanced understanding of Latinx audiences. Your past work demonstrates the ability to develop and execute creative concepts that reach these audiences in the digital and/or broadcast space.
    • Excellent written and visual communication skills. Proven ability to execute high-level work in English and Spanish in a fast-paced environment. You’re a hands-on creative with an excellent command of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and presentation software such as Keynote, Powerpoint, and Google Slides. 
    • Passion. You care a lot about the direction of our country. You understand the importance of cultural competencies when speaking to a diverse sets of audiences. You know how to make something that’s both engaging and on message.

This position will have the option of being remote or working out of Washington, D.C. where we will eventually have an office once it’s safe, with occasional travel as needed. The salary range starts at $80,000 commensurate with experience.  Priorities USA’s competitive benefits package includes 100% of health care premium covered for the employee and 50% for dependents, a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with employer contributions, paid holidays, and unlimited PTO.
