We are on a mission to change the way the web is being built. As this is not an easy task, we need platform engineers to design, implement & evolve our state-of-the-art system architecture.

Our aim is to create a Website Building experience that is both enjoyable & productive for marketing & development teams by simplifying their workflows and eliminating the barriers between them.

Many call us a headless CMS or API-based CMS, but we like to think beyond the technical architecture we provide. We believe our job doesn't stop at providing an API to developers or a UI to marketers who will figure out how to work with it. That's why we're investing heavily in an ecosystem of open-source tools, APIs & web applications. Our headless CMS puts the developer & marketer experiences at the very center through intuitive workflows & seamless integrations.


What’s the role about? 🕵🏻

Our Platform team provides the tools that enable our engineers to ship scalable applications quickly and confidently. Our self-service layer consists of scalable internal APIs, observability & security solutions, testing libraries as well as optimized deployment pipelines that our product teams can easily consume. We take the developer experience of our engineers very seriously.

As Prismic scales, the demands for performance & quality scale with it. We are, therefore, looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to help our team build a strong foundation that our current and future product squads will rely on for years to come.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will 🛠️

- Work on highly-available systems that serve millions of users daily
- Design and implement horizontal services that enable our product squads
- Define our operational excellence standards
- Improve our scaling capabilities
- Shape the way Prismic is delivering software on a scale
- Engage with our engineering community to ensure the successful adoption of platform tools & processes
- Work with, develop, and mentor our team of engineers
- Conduct peer reviews on engineering designs and participate in technical reviews

Ideally you 🧠

- Have expert-level experience in developing backend systems on a scale
- Understand and can work with serverless architectures
- Possess deep knowledge of Typescript and experience with NodeJS
- Know what it takes to develop resilient, scalable, and secure software
- Recognize that people build software and working with others is key to success
- Are product-minded and can work effectively with other disciplines, balancing trade-offs between scope and delivery
- Know that delivery is all about balancing technical, analytical, and product needs
- Are passionate about developer experience
- Understand the importance of a service meeting its SLOs
- Can represent your team during cross-team collaboration
- Value data-driven decisions
- Have strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

Bonus skills:

- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
- Experience with JVM technologies, more specifically, Scala programming language
