Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team for Capital Equipment in both sustaining and improving the production operation for the Hydros and Aquabeam robotic systems but also supporting new product introduction for the next generation systems and all future Capital Equipment. What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:

    • SUMMARY
    • As we continue to grow and streamline our manufacturing operations, Procept now needs to hire an Associate Equipment Engineer who can bring their hands-on expertise to develop new equipment, improve current equipment designs and equipment documentation, manage equipment projects, and perform root cause analysis of non-conforming equipment.

    • CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be required as assigned)
    • Knowledge and Application:
    • Equipment Design: You will apply your experience in mechanical design (ideally in manufacturing applications) to develop new equipment and develop upgrades/improvements to current equipment, specifically with ergonomics, reliability, and Production scale in mind.[AB1] 
    • Complete Knowledge and Understanding of Equipment Documentation and Processes: You should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of equipment documentation and processes. You will revise equipment documentation to improve equipment repeatability and robustness. You will also be responsible for updating the equipment control systems for equipment that you revise or implement.
    • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: You should be capable of assessing unusual circumstances using sophisticated analytical techniques. This involves identifying the root cause of problems and applying advanced problem-solving methodologies to resolve them effectively.
    • Creativity and Innovation: You should be able to resolve a wide range of issues creatively, suggesting variations in approach when necessary. This implies thinking outside the box and proposing innovative solutions to complex problems.
    • Non-conforming equipment: Determine the root cause of equipment non-conformance. Determine if the equipment’s operational range is appropriate for the process. Recommend solutions for verifying parameters.
    • Complexity and Problem Solving:
    • Problem-solving: Work on problems of diverse scope where information analysis requires evaluating identifiable factors by identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during the design and testing phases. This may involve troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, optimizing automation processes, or improving system reliability.
    • Risk Management: Conducting risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with equipment and automation designs and implementing measures to mitigate these risks.
    • Collaboration and Interaction:
    • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, including R&D Engineers, manufacturing engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers to integrate different components into the design and ensure compatibility.
    • Training and Support: Providing training and technical support to manufacturing personnel or end-users to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and automation systems.
    • Project Management: Managing projects related to equipment or automation design, including setting timelines, allocating resources, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery of deliverables.
    •  Training:
    • Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
    • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality and EHS policies

The Qualifications We Need You to Possess:

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this role.     • BS in an Engineering discipline such as mechanical, Biomedical, or electrical engineering with a minimum of 6 months of experience.
    • Experience supporting equipment projects in a medical device manufacturing or capital equipment manufacturing environment in a similarly regulated industry.
    • Understanding of project management.
    • Basic understanding of electrical principles
    • Basic experience with mechanical drawings and 3D modeling
    • Basic understanding of hand tools used for assembling basic fixtures
    • Ability to develop and write a test protocol
    • Ability to write a lab report
    • Basic understanding of root cause analysis to troubleshoot basic mechanical assemblies and manufacturing processes
    • Excellent computer skills with specific skills in Microsoft Office and proficient in Smartsheets.
    • A basic understanding of manufacturing principles
    • A basic understanding of Milling machines, Lathes, and Bandsaws would be a plus
    • Experience with microcontrollers would be a plus.

Work Environment:

    • The employee will occasionally be exposed to engineering labs, and manufacturing clean rooms. The environment is subject to moderate noise from machinery (IE machine shop equipment, the PROCEPT Aquablation unit, computer equipment, printers, etc.), for which proper hearing protection may be assigned and worn.
    • The employee may be exposed to hazards including electrical sparking, water, and chemicals, for which proper protective equipment will be assigned and worn.

$83,500 - $98,000 a year
Compensation also includes a 10% annual bonus and RSUs at offer!

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $83,500-98,000 per year.
Plus, eligibility for a 10% annual bonus and equity/RSUs

PAY RANGE TRANSPARENCY
Procept is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role represents a base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Procept utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
We’ll provide you training for, and ask you to maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
