We're seeking a Senior Game Developer to join our team working on our flagship math MMO game, utilized by 7 million students monthly. In this role, you'll have the chance to influence the way millions of students engage with math through gaming, enriching both their learning and enjoyment. You'll contribute to creating engaging online math experiences where students embark on quests, level up, and collect virtual pets, all while learning from an extensive range of 1500 math topics.
Your Impact
- Develop high-quality code to support engaging and educational gameplay suitable for children.
- Maintain a balance between development speed and long-term future-proofing, prioritizing speed when necessary.
- Lead initiatives to introduce innovative features and enhance team collaboration and efficiency.
- Collaborate with product owners, game designers, artists, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of game design and technical aspects, resulting in engaging gameplay experiences.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing system design, code implementation, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Offer technical leadership and mentorship within the team to foster a culture of high performance.
- Optimize game performance to ensure smooth operation across various devices and platforms, including school and home settings.
About You
- You have a passion for gaming and a minimum of 7 years of experience in game development.
- You bring significant experience with live game environments, mobile gaming, and RPGs, along with a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges they pose.
- You have a deep understanding of engines like Unity, Unreal, and Godot, enabling you to leverage their capabilities and limitations to enhance our proprietary engine.
- You have a profound understanding of game development principles, design patterns, algorithms, and performance optimization.
- You're proficient in both building upon existing code and creating new systems.
- Your communication skills are excellent, enabling effective teamwork and the ability to explain technical details to non-technical team members.
- You are always eager to learn and share your knowledge with others.

- Deep experience in any of the following areas : Gameplay programming , 2d graphics , web browsers , Live operations
Core Technologies
- Our game is built with a custom HTML5 engine and editor based on PixiJS, developed in TypeScript.
- We also use an Electron App editor developed with React/TypeScript.
