Progressive Design, Inc. is currently seeking an entrepreneurial spirited Process Engineer. This is a full time/direct hire position located in Midlothian, Virginia- (Richmond, VA area).
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
· Performing engineering duties on assigned projects including equipment specifications, process piping, material handling and conveying, HVAC, and other mechanically related engineering and design.
· Chemical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited undergraduate program
General Responsibilities:
· Size and specify typical process equipment such as pumps, tanks, chemical reactors, heat exchangers, chillers, condensers, mixers, etc.
· Perform calculations to size and specify process, service and utility piping systems
· Perform calculations to size and specify safety relief devices
· Review equipment submittals for accuracy and validate against specifications
· Develop and/or verify mass and energy balances
· Review equipment submittals for accuracy and validate against specifications
· Maintain familiarity with various industrial codes such as ASME and API
· Prepare PFDs and P&IDs
· Visit customer sites for field work
Job Requirements:
· Chemical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited undergraduate program
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
· Experience in AutoCAD coursework.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong ethics and corporate loyalty
· Must be results oriented

· Must possess uncompromised commitment to quality
· Must be a US citizen, Have a Valid U.S. Driver's License, Pass a Drug Test & Background Check

$34 - $53 an hour
Base salary depends on background and experience. On top of the base salary, engineers are paid for every hour they work and also eligible for an annual performance based bonus up to 9%.
