Our team is growing! Opala is seeking an experienced Director of Finance. This position will play an essential role in the success of our business and future. The Director of Finance will report to and partner with the CEO to the ensure financial health of Opala. They will manage cash flow, create monthly financial reports, budgets, and long-term plans for the business financially. This Director of Finance is a dependable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles. They are a strategic thinker and effective leader who can make the most profitable decisions. The successful candidate will have skills related to financial forecasting and planning, leadership, and business acumen to manage the business finances and solve business problem.

Opala is a healthcare tech startup that improves the health care experience for patients by facilitating data exchange between health plans and providers. We combine data from medical bills, lab tests, imaging results, clinician notes, medical records, and pharmacies to transform data into information.

Benefits: The Seattle base salary range for this full-time position is $169k-$181k. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.  Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, EAP, short-term and long-term disability, 16 days PTO, 8 paid holidays, fully paid holiday closure, parental and family medical leave, 401k , stock options and annual bonuses and salary increases based on merit.

    • Develop key financial models and pricing
    • Plan for cash spends on different projects
    • Develop the corporate fundraising strategy
    • Manage financial relationships with partners and investors
    • Comply with all audits and company policies
    • Create companywide budgets for a fiscal year
    • Adhere to laws and regulations
    • Create presentations for key executives
    • Create company policies for great financial health
    • Manage company cash flows

Core Competencies:

    • Masters in Finance or MBA
    • 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance role 
    • Experience managing financial audits, company’s cash flow and budgets  
    • Experience with equity options and the 409A process
    • Experience with financial forecasting
    • Experience with US GAAP and accounting processes
