We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Material Handler/ Forklift Operator to be responsible for the safe operation of machinery in order to move, transfer, and load finished building components.
What you will do:
- Promote knowledge sharing among team members and departments to foster a culture of learning and growth.
- Operate all types of lift devices such as forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams, counterbalance, side loaders, swivel hooks and bobcats.
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms and lifting devices.
- Support inventory control with accurate documentation.
- Provide on the job training to other employees.
- Maintain safety standards in the workplace.
- Follow quality control procedures.
- Inform leadership of any issues that may impact production.
- Ensure that the required materials and supplies are available.
- Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required.
What you will need to succeed:
- Valid Forklift license
- 3 years + of experience in Material Handler position.
- Capable of operating Forklift, Overhead Crane, Hoists, Elevating Platforms, Lift Beams, Counterbalance, Side Loaders, Swivel Hooks and Bobcats.
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Organized, focused and persistent with the ability to work to the plan and meet delivery dates
- Excellent problem solver and quick learner
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of Company health and safety rules.
- Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
- Ability to adapt to changing environment.
- Knowledge of rigging.
