We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB. 

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to lead a team to frame manual wall panels, floors, and stairs. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor and are required to
operate equipment and hand and power tools. 

What you will do:

    • Assemble/finish pre-built wall, and floor structures
    • Examine and understand specifics of blueprints, building plans and work orders
    • to prepare project layouts to determine the dimensions and lead the internal team in executing the home build
    • Measure, cut, and assemble the framing lumber needed to build residential buildings.
    • Install exterior windows and doors
    • Frame floor panels as per joist layout and framing shop drawings
    • Conduct interior work such as fitting interior doors and casings
    • Use a variety of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, framer’s squares, and measuring tapes.
    • Provide on the job training & mentorship to other employees in a manufacturing environment.
    • Maintain safety standards in the work place through daily tool box meetings.
    • Follow quality control procedures.
    • Work with the procurement team and material management teams to ensure raw materials are available.
    • Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Perform additional duties as required.

What you will need to succeed:

    • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
    • 2+ years of experience in framing position.
    • Experience leading a team of people.
    • Journeyman Carpenter certification.
    • Proficient and proactive in ensuring onsite framing meets Alberta Building Codes.  
    • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is a strong asset.
    • Team work oriented.
    • Excellent problem solving skills and good communication skills.
    • Residential construction knowledge.
    • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and work orders.
    • Knowledge of health and safety rules.
    • Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
    • Must be able to distinguish colors.
    • May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
