Job Overview:
We are seeking a Strategy Associate who thrives on autonomy, sees problems, and solves them without waiting to be told. You will work directly with the COO (primary) and CEO (secondary) across strategic, operational, and customer-facing initiatives.
This is a high-impact, high-exposure role where you will manage projects, prepare investor and board materials, analyze financial performance, and improve operational efficiency. From time to time, you may also support sales efforts with proposals and legal follow-ups. If you are entrepreneurial, organized, and ready to figure things out in a fast-moving environment, you will fit right in.
Responsibilities
- Ownership Mentality: Identify gaps, propose solutions, and execute without needing direction. Operate with resourcefulness and a “get it done” approach.
- Strategic and Financial Analysis: Build and maintain models for working capital, growth scenarios, and ROI assessments. Translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Board, Investor, and Customer Materials: Develop high quality PowerPoint decks, Excel analyses, and proposal documents for internal and external stakeholders.
- Operational Execution: Support purchase orders, invoicing, contract review, and process improvement initiatives.
- Market and Technology Research: Conduct targeted research to inform strategic decisions, partnerships, and R&D priorities.
- Proposal and RFP Support: Draft and coordinate responses to proposals (including government and large enterprise), integrating technical input from engineering.
- Confidential Projects: Handle sensitive financial, legal, and personnel information with discretion.
- Occasional Sales and Legal Support: Provide backup on proposals, contract reviews, and customer follow-ups in coordination with the sales team. This will not be your primary responsibility, but you should be comfortable stepping in as needed until dedicated resources are added.
What you bring
- 2 to 4 years in investment banking, management consulting, corporate strategy, or a similar analytical or finance-heavy role.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to create robust financial models and professional-level presentations.
- Strong business writing skills and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, concise narratives.
- Proven track record of taking ownership, spotting issues early, and implementing solutions.
- Experience in customer-facing environments, including call participation, follow-up, and coordination.
- High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Passion for technology, batteries, and the future of energy storage.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, resourceful, and driven to create value without waiting for instructions.
