Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and results driven Inside Sales Representative to help expand our PFML business by working closely with brokers/producers in both the employee benefits and property & casualty (P&C) space. In this role, you’ll drive new business opportunities, manage broker relationships, coordinate proposals, and deliver strong product positioning.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-call-volume environment and understands the broker distribution model. You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure that brokers receive accurate, competitive quotes and have the tools they need to succeed with our products.
Key Responsibilities
•Make a minimum of 30 outbound calls per day to brokers, producers, and prospects to develop and manage a pipeline of PFML opportunities.
•Build and maintain relationships with employee benefit and P&C producers, guiding them through our product offerings and sales process.
•Achieve personal and team goals by securing new sales opportunities and positioning company offerings within defined profitability guidelines.
•Review and qualify RFPs, ensuring all necessary information is gathered for timely and accurate quoting.
•Coordinate with a Sales Support Specialist to ensure smooth proposal delivery, follow-ups, and broker communication.
•Collaborate closely with Underwriting, providing all necessary data and context to ensure the most accurate and competitive rates are offered.
•Educate broker partners on PFML legislation, product features, and market positioning to increase product adoption.
•Leverage data and market intelligence tools to improve broker prospecting, profiling, and planning activities.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce), including pipeline activity, call logs, broker notes, and opportunity status.
•Monitor state-specific PFML regulatory updates to ensure accurate product positioning and compliance.
Experience & Education
•Bachelor’s degree. 
•Life & Health License required.
•2+ years of sales, insurance sales, or broker channel experience, preferably in PFML, disability, or employee benefits.
•Working knowledge of the broker distribution model and how to partner effectively with both employee benefits and P&C producers.
•Experience reviewing RFPs and coordinating with underwriting to develop quotes.
•Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially across internal teams like sales support and underwriting.
•Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable in a metric-driven environment with daily activity goals.
•Proficient with CRM tools like Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting platforms.
$50,000 - $50,000 a year
Protective’s targeted compensation for this position is $50k. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees. 
This position also includes cash compensation as a part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
