The Retirement relationship specialist position supports internal and external wholesalers as a highly responsive dedicated liaison and advocate, driving efficient resolution of complex new business and Inforce problems, providing guidance on best practices for new business processing and Inforce, and serving as a single point of communication for all Retirement division distribution teams. 

*The internal title for this position is Associate II Sales Support

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Serve as an effective single point of contact for internal/external wholesalers to inquire about policies and procedures for key functional areas of the company, including but not limited to: Underwriting, Annuity New Business, Annuity Inforce, Commissions, Licensing, Websites, Corporate Mail, and Imaging. 
    • Using wholesaler feedback, assist in developing new initiatives, communicate these initiatives to distribution, and obtain distribution feedback on new and existing business practices. 
    • Assists operations with coordinating complex activities including product launches, process enhancements, and year-end processing. 
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key Operations staff in Licensing/Contracting, New Business, Inforce, Underwriting, and Customer Service to help provide and gather feedback regarding the business of our distribution partners.   
    • Work closely with key Operations staff in Licensing/Contracting, Annuity New Business, Annuity Inforce, Underwriting, and Customer Service contacts to expedite problem resolution to provide exceptional customer service to distribution. 
    • Educate wholesalers to manage their perceptions and expectations for home office processing in a positive and effective manner. 
    • Provide back-up support for other team members so that the team maintains an “always a live voice” availability for distribution. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

    • 5+ years’ related experience in the financial services industry 
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area or discipline is required; industry designations or licenses preferred. 
    • Must possess knowledge of Annuities, bank wealth transfer products, new business or inforce processing preferred. 
    • Strong relationship and negotiating skills among internal and external business partners and team members. 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization. 
    • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail 
    • Proven ability in change management initiatives and advocacy in changing business conditions 
    • Ability to work effectively in a high demand and fast-paced environment. 
$62,000 - $75,000 a year
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $62,000 to $75,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
