We are searching for a talented Senior Associate to assist with Risk Management activities.  Reporting directly to the Senior Director, the Senior Associate will analyze and identify particular loss trends and potential threats to the claims reserve.  In this role you will identify high risk accounts, and work with the internal and external sales teams to determine the appropriate corrective action.  This position will also oversee monthly internal and external reporting.  The successful candidate must possess the ability to focus on attention to detail and accuracy. Additionally, the Senior Associate must be capable of providing superb customer service and possess effective negotiation skills. This position works closely the with sales and claims teams, and has exposure to underwriting, accounting, and senior management.  Candidates with prior experience in accounting, FP&A, reporting, underwriting, or actuarial fields will fit well in this role.

Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for monitoring and acting on high-risk accounts
    • Responsible for internal and external reporting
    • Assist claims and sales in daily requests
    • Assist in loss analysis to identify trends
    • Provide ad hoc assistance as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or related field
    • 4+ years of professional experience
    • Experience in manipulation and analysis of large data sets
    • Excellent analytical skills with ability to present analysis in an understandable manner
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and SQL
    • Must have attention to detail and excellent organization skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential
    • Knowledge of Warranty Industry or Property and Casualty Insurance preferred

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of insurance concepts a strong advantage
    • Knowledge of actuarial methods a plus
    • Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools a benefit
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
