Responsibilities

    • Deliver training classes based on required internal qualifications including: demonstrated competency in structured programs, ability to consistently deliver on-going adherence to designed lesson plan content, flow, activities and outcomes/metrics. 
    • Manage assigned classes, ensuring prescribed instructor and learner standards such as schedule adherence, maintaining focus on topics/objectives, minimizing disruptions, etc.
    • Applies deep process knowledge to prepare training for new and existing employees. Understands all work unit processes and systems and has thorough understanding of how workflows through the unit and connects with other units.
    • Applies deep institutional and process knowledge in training of employees. Trains new employees to ensure a fundamental understanding of workflow and process including product changes; ensures new employees can apply new skills in order to meet quality and productivity standards as defined by the manager.  
    • Provides on-the-job training for existing employees when processes and workflow change.  Re-trains employees as needed and at the direction of the manager. 
    • Document Processes and Create job aids. Responsible for documenting processes for the work area and creating job aids for employees. Ensures all procedures and job aids are documented, updated and effectively communicated to team members using a standard methodology.
    • Assists the manager in assessing team member processing skills on a routine basis. At the direction of the manager, performs skill assessments of the team members in order to identify skill gaps and creates a comprehensive list of training needs for each team member.  Tracks and reports training needs and completed training using established methods. Provides feedback to the manager and to the employees regarding training progress.
    • Ability to effectively instruct on-site classes, remote classes and combined classes (on-site and remote).
    • Confirm all necessary preparations are accounted for and in place prior to class start date/time (proper equipment and materials in place, lesson plan key point, job aids/solutions, timeline and activities reviewed). 
    • Build rapport with learners, following principles that support Adult Learning and business partners’ values; recognize and adapt to varied learning styles. 
    • Lead, inspire and motivate classroom/learners. 
    • Assess learners’ progress towards learning objectives by observing and identifying gaps in comprehension and skills requiring additional attention 
    • Provide feedback to learners and managers; follow-up to ensure successful transition of learners to business areas with achievement of learning objectives, internal training metrics and job performance metrics.
    • Review, analyze post-training surveys, data, reports and metrics to assess effectiveness of and make improvement to their delivery of assigned training programs/curricula. 
    • Assist, as needed, with components of on-boarding or performance management tasks. 
    • Maintain skills for assigned operations areas by devoting regular segments of time processing or assisting with production work or customer calls.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma required, college degree ideal
    • Minimum 1 year of corporate instructor experience required.
    • Prior experience in using Articulate software strongly preferred
    • Financial services industry, LOMA or comparable industry education designations preferred.
    • Demonstrated Adult Learning Theory and Learner-Centered approaches required.
    • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
    • Work effectively in a high demand, fast-paced environment; stay calm under pressure.
    • Experience with MS Office (especially PowerPoint), proficiency with audiovisual/presentation systems and software, as well as in delivering remote training, using learning platforms like Go-To-Training or Skype for Business.
    • Strong organization and time management skills; take initiative and carry-out assigned tasks within deadlines and to expectations, with appropriate follow-through.
    • Quickly acquire and maintain subject matter expertise and technical proficiency with required systems and assigned areas/functions.  
    • Successful delivery and classroom management of training programs. Including an engaging delivery, meeting learning objectives within allotted time, effectively handling disruptions with schedules, participants or systems and embracing teachable moments.
    • Support participants and answers questions through all aspects of their learning experience: classroom, blended, technical, etc.
    • Actively develop productive working relationships with the instructional design team and serves as a subject matter expert on delivery, technical training and specialty discipline
$61,000 - $75,000 a year
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $61k to $75k. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
