Our CNC Material Associate plays a crucial role in preparing raw materials for CNC Production. This involves processing materials through Machining Centers and ensuring that the 'prepared stock' is accurately placed in the correct warehouse locations. Additionally, the associate handles the booking of Purchase Orders for CNC raw materials upon their arrival at Goods-In.
What you'll do:
- Load and unload materials into Machining Centers, entering stock information into the system and running process programs.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Machining Centers, and provide feedback on machining issues to engineering and management.
- Conduct quality inspections, identify non-conformance issues, and report on CNC raw material conditions.
- Select appropriate materials to maintain stock levels and perform stock transfers, movements, and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to company, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct daily checks on emergency stops and door functions of mills, and clean and maintain Machining Centers, including chip bin emptying and lubricant replenishment.
- Operate power tools like band saws and manual mills, manage cutting tools, and inspect machined items for accuracy.
- Book deliveries of CNC raw materials, update the computer system, produce stock labels, and carry out additional tasks as needed.
What it takes:
- Experience in setting and operating CNC machines is advantageous but not required.
- Safe use of chemicals and handling of sharp/heavy objects.
- Proficient with measuring instruments (e.g., rulers, verniers, calipers, dial indicators).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in IT, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and working in warehouse/production environments.
- MHE experience (Counterbalance and 'Flexi' trucks) is an asset but not essential.
- Physically fit to stand for a full shift with manual handling abilities compliant with HSE guidelines.
- Ability to follow printed and digital instructions.
- Numerate, literate, with strong communication skills.
- Independent, motivated, dependable, and resourceful with good organizational skills.
- Punctual and reliable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, able to effectively work with various company teams.
- Proactive in seeking process improvements and enhancing personal performance.
