Join Our Team as a Director of Revenue Operations!

This is a hybrid role being onsite in Maple Plain, MN on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

The Director of Revenue Operations will report directly to the Vice President of Global Revenue Operations to help ensure the seamless and efficient functioning of our sales organization. This role will also work with the VP of Global Revenue Operations as we build the sales operations organization to support the exciting next phase of growth for Protolabs.  Your contributions will include setting and overseeing sales goals; designing, implementing, and streamlining sales processes and systems; and managing sales analytics. Additionally, you’ll play a crucial role in data reporting and providing valuable support and guidance to our Go to Market teams in both the Americas and Europe. Collaboration is key, and you’ll work hand-in-hand with various departments—such as marketing, finance, customer success, and product development—to align our sales strategies with the company's overarching objectives and the ever-evolving needs of our customers.


What You Will Do:

    • Oversee the development and maintenance of processes and systems for pipeline management and accurate sales forecasts, provide insightful analysis, and generate regular reports to track performance against targets. Analyze and optimize end-to-end sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 
    • Review, analyze, and evaluate business procedures. Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day and long-term operations.  
    • Design and implement key metrics to define optimal performance measurements and performance management programs required to ensure sales and marketing organization success. 
    • Oversee the design and administration of sales compensation plans. 
    • Establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by the sales organization. Utilize data analytics to provide insights into sales performance, trends, and opportunities. 
    • Foster collaboration and alignment between Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and other departments to ensure the alignment and operational efficiency of key business process and metrics 
    • Partners with senior sales and marketing leadership to identify and successfully implement opportunities for sales and marketing process improvement. 
    • Administer and provide operational direction to sales and marketing for Go to Market (GTM) initiatives such as demand generation, new product introduction launches, product promotion campaigns, corporate system enhancements.  
    • Oversee the implementation, optimization and management of sales technologies, CRM systems, and other tools. Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless integration and functionality. 
    • Ensure sales reports and other internal intelligences provided to the GTM organization. Work closely with other departments, including marketing, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment of sales operations with overall business objectives. 
    • Operationally deploy effective and efficient GTM strategies in partnership with regional sales and marketing VPs, GMs and the executive leadership team. 
    • Coordinate with sales leadership to lead efficient and accurate reporting initiatives. Develops new reporting tools as needed. 
    • Ensure alignment with sales objectives and budgetary considerations. Facilitate communication and collaboration between sales and other departments. 

What It Takes:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
    • 8+ years of progressive experience in leading a revenue and/or sales operations team
    • Proven director level experience in a similar role
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making
    • Demonstrated ability in building and optimizing sales processes and new sales technologies
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Experience in sales forecasting, planning, and compensation management
    • Exceptional leadership skills with experience building and managing diverse and remote teams, including cross-functional teams
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights
    • Strong technical experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), sales automation tools, and business intelligence platforms
    • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building both internally and externally

$133,500 - $200,300 a year
Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, and compensation mix vary based on position, such as base wage, as well as other earnings including incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
