Proxima

Proxima is more than just a business to us; it's a vision of transforming the consumer technology landscape and giving B2C businesses the data they need to make informed decisions that drive highly performant actions. We are empowering our customers to achieve their greatest potential with innovative, data-driven solutions.

We are a first-of-its-kind data intelligence solution that leverages artificial intelligence and a proprietary database of over 60 million (and growing) unique shopper personas to enable businesses to achieve greater scale, efficiency, and financial success across their acquisition, retention, and operational strategies. We’re on a mission to help maximize their performance with AI-powered solutions that have traditionally been out of reach for most companies. We believe profitable growth starts with better data.

About The Role

Proxima has a unique dataset most companies only dream of: real-time, anonymized cross-brand transaction data at scale.

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team building AI-driven products powered by this data to help level the playing field, helping independent brands find their perfect customers while helping consumers discover their next favorite products from businesses they've never heard of.

You’ll play a central role in developing intelligent systems from custom AI agents to powerful backend services and sleek user interfaces. This is a true full stack role, ideal for engineers who are as passionate about writing clean CSS as they are about building robust APIs and working with data.

If you thrive in fast-paced, startup environments and love pushing the limits of AI-assisted development, we want to talk to you.

Responsibilities

    • Build, maintain, and scale full stack applications using TypeScript, React, and Python
    • Work on end-to-end features including AI agent interfaces, orchestration layers, and developer-facing tools
    • Write and style responsive user interfaces using CSS/SCSS
    • Design, build, and document backend services and APIs
    • Query and manage relational databases using SQL
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate quickly and deliver high-impact features
    • Own projects from architecture to deployment in a fast-paced, agile environment
    • Stay on the cutting edge of modern development practices, especially around AI integration

Qualifications

    • 6+ years of professional software development experience
    • Proven experience working in startup environments—you’ve shipped products fast and worn multiple hats
    • Proficiency with TypeScript, Python, and React
    • Experience writing and maintaining CSS in production-grade web apps
    • Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database design
    • Demonstrated experience building or integrating with AI-powered applications
    • Daily use of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) is required
    • Comfortable owning projects independently in a high-velocity development environment
    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to Have

    • Familiarity with building or managing AI agent frameworks, orchestration tools, or embeddings
    • Experience with data engineering workflows (ETL, dbt, Airflow, etc.)
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Why Join Our Engineering Team

    • Be part of a lean team building the next generation of AI-native tools and workflows
    • High autonomy and ownership from day one
    • A fast, iterative, and supportive development environment where your work has real impact
$170,000 - $210,000 a year
