YOUR IMPACT
As an integral part of our team, you will develop superconducting magnet concepts within the context of stellarator design. These magnets push on the boundaries of what is possible and represent a hugely cross-disciplinary engineering challenge. We are looking for an engineer with experience in electromagnetic system design to contribute to this critical component of a stellarator power plant.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Exploring superconducting magnet concepts within the context of stellarator design;
- Collaborating closely with our team of mechanical engineers, HTS experts, and physicists;
- Partnering with industrial collaborators to develop lab tests and hardware prototypes;
- Evaluating high-level systems concepts, conducting trade studies between components;
- Integrating new technologies and novel concepts to elevate fusion to new levels of performance and feasibility.
WHO YOU ARE
- Experienced in electro-mechanical design, including high-field magnets, electric motors, and battery systems;
- Knowledgeable in cryogenic and/or vacuum systems;
- Proficient in multi-physics modeling, particularly electromagnetic, structural, and thermal analysis;
- Experienced in conceptual design exploration and reduced order analysis;
- Skilled in prototype device development from concept;
- [Nice to have] Experienced in instrumentation;
