Job Duties - Plumber

-Shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches
-Perform on-site routine and emergency troubleshooting, service, and repairs of backflow prevention devices
-Accurately diagnose assembly failures
-Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels
-Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods
-Install automatic controls to regulate pipe systems
-Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, repairing broken pipes, or opening clogged drains
-Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes or pipe fittings, using hand or power tools
-Record and report test findings to customers
-Prepare and remit all test reports to local authorities
-Write and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets
-Maintain a positive relationship with customers and pass on information for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
-Ensure all customers and co-workers receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment
-Stay current with technical aspects of the job by reading technical manuals, bulletins, and product brochures
-Service and maintain company vehicle according to manufacturer recommendations and company policy
-Keep vehicle clean, organized, and stocked with necessary parts, equipment, and supplies
-Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job duties
-Follow OSHA and company safety programs to maintain a safe and secure work environment
-Adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
-Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
-Perform other duties and projects as assigned

-Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Education & Experience

-High School diploma or equivalent
-1–5 years of experience

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

-Oregon Backflow Assembly Tester Certification (Oregon Only)
-Washington Backflow Assembly Tester Certification (BAT) (Washington Only)
-Washington Journey-Level Plumber License

-Familiarity with basic hand tools (hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.)
-Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
-Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to follow oral and written directions
-Strong customer service skills and empathy
-Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to comply with safety requirements and promote safe work practices
-Self-motivated and able to work independently

Physical and Mental Demands

-Constantly lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
-Occasionally lift up to 110 pounds with assistance or lifting devices
-Frequently climb ladders while carrying up to 50 pounds
-Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and stretching
-Frequent overhead reaching and repetitive hand/finger motions
-Constant use of hand and power tools
-Ability to walk long distances and traverse uneven terrain
-Ability to remain stationary for extended periods
-Frequent mathematical calculations
