We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team!
As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, programming, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure they remain operational and compliant with all relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Perform fire alarm commissioning to verify system functionality and compliance.
-Conduct routine and emergency troubleshooting, programming, testing, and servicing of fire alarm and low-voltage life safety systems.
--Identify and correct code and non-conformance issues in accordance with regulatory standards.
Maintain strong customer relationships, providing clear communication on system status, deficiencies, and recommended repairs.
-Write detailed work reports and service tickets for completed tasks.
-Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and product manuals to effectively diagnose and repair systems.
-Educate customers on proper system usage, preventative maintenance, and potential upgrades.
-Assess customer sites for additional services or equipment needs and communicate recommendations.
Requirements:
-Minimum 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Service Technician.
-Programming experience with EST Fire Alarm Panels (preferred).
-Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 & 72 standards and local AHJ requirements (preferred).
-Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Apple iOS, and Android.
-Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Working Conditions:
-Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
-Potential exposure to airborne particles, high work areas, and electrical hazards.
-Moderate noise levels; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted.
-Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and/or wiring
-Must be able to push or pull up to 50 pounds
-Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds
