To support our rapid growth, we’re looking for a Sourcing & Contracts Manager to help identify, develop and manage a set of vendor relationships (and the contracts that result from these efforts) on a defined set of strategic categories. Given the diverse array of product categories and their strategic impact the resulting catalogs/offerings for our Members, the success of the position requires the Senior Sourcing & Contracts Manager to proactively research designated categories to have a working, but not necessarily expert, knowledge of each assigned category. You will be responsible for developing a working knowledge of market trends, scope, suppliers and for developing & executing a sourcing strategy. 

The Sourcing & Contracts Manager - Strategic Product Programs will have an integral role working with our Members and across a variety of other Purchasing Platform departments, based on category research (incorporating Member feedback where applicable), in developing RFPs and negotiating contract terms/conditions/data & content/pricing resulting in executed contracts made available to Purchasing Platform members via our proprietary marketplace. In doing so, the role will require you to conduct market research, lead member committees, review & analyze supplier responses to RFPs, negotiate pricing, liaise with our finance team on analysis and also manage contract administration tasks such as contract reviews, renewals, amendments, etc.

The successful candidate will possess an ability to manage and lead category sourcing initiatives and multi-task strategic plans for multiple categories and internal teams. The Sourcing & Contract Manager must be able to anticipate project needs, meet deadlines, and manage direction from multiple stakeholders. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic, self-motivated professional who can work in a team setting, but also can work independently. This role will report directly to our VP of Vendor Operations & Supply Chain Strategy.

What you’ll be doing

    • Developing and managing effective vendor solicitations resulting in contracts that are valuable to Member portfolios as measured by contract sales
    • Facilitate contract administration and resolution to contractual manners
    • Maintain complete and organized documentation with all necessary solicitation and contract documents
    • Establish and maintain member and supplier/vendor relationships to achieve desired goals serving as the key point of contact for contractual manners
    • Work alongside our Merchandising team to ensure all resulting vendor and product data is represented accurately and comprehensively on our Marketplace for our Members to access
    • Work closely with our Marketing team to develop internal and external communications about new and existing category programs
    • Limited travel is required for this role

What you'll bring to the role

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Purchasing Manager, or other credentials strongly preferred.
    • Contracting experience as a buyer or contract officer required. 3-5 years’ experience is preferred. MRO / Real Estate / Property Management experience strongly preferred
    • Direct experience in facilitating best-value Request-for-proposal process (RFPs), including supplier discussions and contract negotiation required
    • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and general communications skills are required.
    • Attention to detail is required with the ability to creatively solve strategic issues often requiring flexibility in processes
    • Financial analysis skills and ability to compile and analyze data, organize and write reports preferred
    • Strong computer skills are required and include proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Must have strong interpersonal and social skills to develop long-term business relationships with agencies, suppliers, members and internal teams
