PURVIS Systems has an opening for a Field Service Technician. We are looking for an tech-minded individual to be responsible for providing technical maintenance and repair of computer systems, hardware and software. The Field Service Technician is part of a team that provides 24x7 operations and reports to various work sites throughout New York City in a specified timeframe.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:
- Repair all aspects of desktop computers and peripherals.
- Using schematics to troubleshoot down to the component level.
- Install and configure new software and/or hardware, and imaging, as required.
- Travel through the New York City boroughs to repair and maintain equipment at various locations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical equipment to the component level, as well as at the bench.
- Soldering and use various hand tools to repair equipment.
Qualifications:
- A technical degree in electronics and computers and minimum of 2 years work-related experience.
- Must be familiar with all aspects of desktop computers.
- Knowledge of simple networking and network cabling; and operating systems (Windows 10/11, etc.).
- Valid drivers license.
- Due to the response time, must reside within the New York City boroughs or be able to respond in a specific time.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Able to solder and use various hand tools and electronic test equipment.
- Some heaving lifting from time-to-time is required.
- Most have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- No sponsorship is available.
$60,000 - $70,000 a year
