Position Overview

This position will report to the Senior Director of Market Strategy and Industry Affairs and be a key employee of the company’s Corporate Affairs team based in Washington, DC.

The employee will direct the organization’s market intelligence work to provide key strategy and analysis across the company’s North American business, inform executives of market threats, and provide a viewpoint on market, competitor, and technology development. They will also perform analysis of policy issues in support of the company’s government relations team.   

Further, this employee will aim to be a public thought leader on the state and future of the clean energy sector, helping to drive our industry forward while informing strategy across Qcells’ key business and policy objectives.

Washington D.C. is preferred for this role, though San Francisco and New York are also suitable locations. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm. Title level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

    • Deliver internal expertise to Qcells senior leadership about market developments to drive company decision making and strategy;
    • Monitor and analyze policy issues effect on Qcells business, determining risks and opportunities in support of Qcells government relations team;
    • Develop a comprehensive industry view to inform the company and position oneself as a public leader on the development of the clean energy sector;
    • Build out and formalize internal market intelligence infrastructure to regularly update leadership and staff with the latest information on market conditions, competitor news, and technology trends;
    • Coordinate and network broadly within the company to inform strategy and understand company positioning;
    • Leverage relationships across the sector to gain timely and valuable market intelligence;
    • Manage outside market intelligence contracts and source outside expertise on consulting basis as necessary;
    • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clean energy market research or strategic consulting;
    • Extremely strong research and presentation skills;
    • Experience working with senior leaders of major organizations;
    • A bachelor’s or advanced degree in business, policy, communications, or related field;
    • Assertive, able to cope with pressure, and a team player.
