POSITION OVERVIEW 
We are looking for a Sr.Quality Engineer with a strong background in renewable power electronics products (DC/AC and AC/DC converters) and components (MOSFETs, IGBTs, capacitors, etc.). In this role, you will play a key role in setting up the Quality Management System (QMS) for incoming quality inspection, root cause analysis, critical components analysis/characterization, data analysis, and reporting in manufacturing and lab environments for our ground-breaking products. As a successful candidate, you will own the Quality lifecycle of our products from concept to design, development, manufacturing, and field operation to design-in, confirm, and grow exceptional Quality at every stage. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for developing and managing  Qcells QMS (quality management system) and EMS (environmental management system) without compromising product quality. 
    • Participates in design reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. 
    • Develops quality metrics, design, and production certification plans to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements. 
    • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified process capability levels are achieved. 
    • Work with manufacturing quality, service engineering, supplier quality, and design teams to identify root causes and drive resolution for failures originating in testing and in the field. 
    • Generate process validation test plans to implement at suppliers. Drive root cause corrective action with suppliers to resolve production process issues. 
    • Drive cross-functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, production quality, and research teams to test existing and determine new product specifications 
    • Collaborate with suppliers to initiate and implement Process Change Requests (PCRs) to improve manufacturability and field performance 
    • Developing and managing KPIs, databases, and countermeasures as required for continuous improvements of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Environmental Management System (EMS)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS or MS, or PhD in EE 
    • 5+ years of experience working in power electronics / high voltage laboratory environment (including relevant internship or academic lab work experience) 
    • Experience in ISO9001 Management System 
    • Experience with modern quality principles; including 8D reporting, Fishbone, FMEAs 
    • Working knowledge of applied statistics and experience with statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, etc. 
    • PCB board-level experience with the ability to read and communicate PCBA schematics, etc. 
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of sophisticated electrical test setups 
    • Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances. Own assignments and take full accountability for their success, with the ability to change direction quickly. 
    • Experienced with qualification of components and vendors of electronic components and power electronics semiconductors. 
    • Knowledgeable with IPC Standards IPC-A-610, IPC-J-001 STD, and IPC/WHMA-620 is a plus. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) 
    • Proven self-starter: identifies issues and creates solutions 
    • Quality Engineering experience in the industry of solar, electric vehicle, battery storage 
    • Proficient in power electronics and power conversion topologies 
    • Startup experience preferred.
