The Land Acquisition Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing land for Community-Scale Solar and Storage projects in select markets. This will include identifying suitable sites, site screening diligence, land acquisition, contract negotiations with landowners, easements, and title curations. The candidate will perform site screening based on grid capacity, site constraints, identify and evaluate key development opportunities, identify landowner contact information, structuring and negotiation of commercial transactions (Option to Lease, Option to Purchase, Easement Agreement, Crossing Agreement). The Land Acquisition Sales Associate will be responsible for acquiring parcels from 10 Acres to 100+ Acres.

Responsibilities

    • Identify land opportunities, obtain landowner information and other contact details.
    • Evaluate sites and perform early-stage diligence.
    • Cold call landowners, overcome objections, the sales cycle begins with No. The associate should be able to turn a No into a Yes.
    • Negotiate site control documents such as land lease options, land purchase options and easement agreements with landowners with assistance from our internal legal team.
    • Maintain a log of all due diligence payments processed to the property owner.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • 5 or more years of successful sales, business development or origination experience directly contracting energy projects with commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, public, or utility organizations.
    • Permanently located in the Western United States region and able to travel throughout the United States to meet in person with potential clients and customers.
    • Experience reviewing and negotiating legal contracts.
    • Strong independent problem-solving skills
    • Experience with ArcGIS, real estate related programs
    • Coordinate efforts and communicate with landowners, surveyors, utilities, title companies, and other key project stakeholders.
    • Experience with front-of-meter solar and/or battery storage projects.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% of a work week.
    • A valid driving license.
