On our utility-scale solar project the role of General Foreman will oversee multiple installation crews, coordinating efforts across different installation activities. Your leadership ensures that safety protocols are strictly followed, operations are executed efficiently, and the highest quality standards are maintained. The oversight of this role is critical in driving project schedules, conducting comprehensive quality audits, and endorsing the final certification of work. This position reports to the Superintendent  or another management personnel that the project leadership designates. This position is project-based and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm local time. Overtime and weekend working hours will be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 100%. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Directly oversee and manage the solar installation crew, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. 
    • Conduct daily briefings with your team to discuss project goals, safety reminders, and any changes in plans or schedules. 
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement among team members. 
    • Enforce strict compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments on the job site. 
    • Ensure that all crew members are properly trained on safety practices, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and have received the task-specific standard work instruction (SWI) training. 
    • Review project execution plans and conduct task assignments to personnel based on their skills and project needs, monitoring progress to keep the project on track and in alignment with resource plans. 
    • Conduct regular inspections of the work completed, ensuring it meets or exceeds quality standards. Address any deficiencies immediately, providing guidance and support to correct issues. 
    • Develop and maintain production plans and ensure timely delivery of materials and work. 
    • Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring that tools and materials are properly managed and stored. 
    • Represent the company with integrity and professionalism, fostering positive relationships with all project participants. 
    • Perform final inspections and certifications of the work. 
    • Coordinate with inspectors or other officials as required for the final acceptance of the solar installation. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent.  
    • Further education or certifications in construction management, solar energy, or related fields are preferred. 
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction or solar installations, or related fields. 
    • Certifications/Licenses: OSHA Safety Certification preferred. Additional certifications related to solar energy or construction management are a plus. 
    • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in managing construction projects. 
$95,000 - $115,000 a year
