Director of Consumer Compliance

EnFinseeks an experienced professional to lead the company’s consumer lending compliance division.  This is a leadership position reporting directly to the President of EnFin, with an additional reporting line to EnFin’s Board.  The ideal candidate has meaningful experience in the consumer lending sector working with financial institutions and regulators, as well as managing internal audit and review processes. Experience in the fintech lending and/or residential solar lending is a plus. This employment opportunity is eligible for remote work, however, Hybrid or Onsite work may be required for candidates residing within a commutable distance to any of our corporate offices in the following locations: San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; and Teaneck, NJ.


    • Own and lead the implementation of all policies and procedures related to consumer compliance, including regulatory reporting processes, customer complaint management processes, and internal compliance audits and analyses. 
    • Collaborate with operations and sales leadership to manage and mitigate compliance-related risk across the organization 
    • Provide expert guidance on EnFin’s loan application process and associated disclosures 
    • Lead all compliance-related discussions with capital partners and regulators and explain EnFin’s initiatives, models and operations 
    • Develop and insure internal adherence to governance structure and protocols relating to BSA/AML as well as other lending requirements 
    • Articulate compliance-related requirements to internal and external stakeholders 

Required Qualifications

    • 12+ years experience in risk management and compliance 
    • Demonstrated track record in consumer lending /compliance auditing, operations, and/or regulation 
    • Strong understanding of compliance regulations as it pertains to consumer lending industry 
    • Prior experience leading interactions with regulators, CFPB, etc. 
    • Good knowledge of Consumer and Commercial credit risk concepts 
    • Detail oriented and well organized 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with executives 
    • Entrepreneurial and flexible mindset with demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment 
    • Bachelor’s degree 

Preferred Qualifications

    • Consumer lending compliance certifications (CAMS, FLE, etc) 
    • Experience in the fintech and/or B2B2C lending sectors 
    • Experience working with state and/or national lending regulators
