The Team You’ll Work With
Reporting to the Head of Database Engineering, you’ll work cross-functionally across the organization and leverage your deep database knowledge to solve complex problems related to database infrastructure at scale at Qloo. The Impact You’ll Have
Playing a pivotal role in database engineering and management, you’ll work on optimizing existing systems and enhancing application development and expansion for the future. Your expertise will be crucial in speeding up request processing, as well as designing and implementing new functions and data structures to support our upcoming features.
Our ideal candidate will immediately provide value by:
* Designing, optimizing, and maintaining existing PostgreSQL databases for improved performance and efficiency
* Providing deep technical expertise in database technologies to contribute to strategic decision-making related to data management and infrastructure
* Designing and developing new functions and data structures to support innovative features
* Contributing to the improvement of request processing speeds through strategic optimizations
* Conducting deep root cause analysis for critical issues, designing and implementing corrective actions to mitigate future occurrences
* Collaborating with the wider API team to refine and enhance SQL capabilities
To be a successful match, you must have:
* Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
* 5 - 10 years of experience in database administration, performance tuning, and security
* Proficiency in PostgreSQL, SQL and experience with PL/SQL
* Demonstrated ability in developing and optimizing data structures and functions
* Strong understanding database design principles
* Experience with AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL
* Previous experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as Bash and Python
* Strong experience supporting high availability and disaster recovery environments, and VLDBs
* Good understanding of hardware, memory and storage subsystems
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
