To achieve Qonto's ambitious goals, we created the Data team, responsible for overseeing data analysis, engineering, and science. In three years, our data department has grown from 5 to 60 people, and we continue expanding!
You will work closely with Marianne, our Head of Data Science, and join a close-knit team of Senior Data Scientists.
Our data scientists are organized by distinct areas (e.g., Growth, Customer, Finance & Strategy) to develop expertise and increase bounds with stakeholders.
We are seeking a dynamic Data Scientist to collaborate closely with our growth department, primarily focusing on incrementality tests and Marketing Mix Modeling. Your key partners will be the Performance and Brand Marketing teams, driving both customer acquisition and long-term brand development.
👩💻🧑💻 As a Senior Data Scientist at Qonto, you will exhibit a strong business acumen to deliver impactful recommendations to the business:
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with key stakeholders in one of our primary areas, in your case the Growth department, and play a crucial role in their project success by providing valuable insights. Your ability to challenge norms and be persuasive will drive our mission forward.
- Communication Mastery: Articulate complex data insights into compelling narratives. Whether through engaging slide decks or detailed Notion pages, your stories will drive actions and foster a culture of informed decision-making.
- Lead By Example: Spearhead data investigations with finesse. From extracting vital information using SQL to designing and monitoring experiments (A/B tests, GeoTests, CausalPy), your leadership will guide our approach to understanding and leveraging data.
🚀 More specifically, the Growth Data Scientist’s main mission, is to help empower Qonto’s growth team with data-driven insights and help Qonto achieve its ambitious goals. Here are some example of projects you may work on:
- Model Innovation: Take the helm in revolutionizing our Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) by employing a cutting-edge Bayesian statistical framework. Your pioneering efforts will not only enhance our marketing strategies but also optimize resource allocation, fueling unprecedented growth and solidifying our market position (learn more about our MMM in our Marketing Series on Medium or through this video explaining Qonto’s path to MMM)
- Experiment Protocols: Engage in meticulously designed experiment protocols ranging from 2-3 months, encompassing all stages from design to analysis. Your work will directly contribute to strategic decisions, such as assessing marketing impacts using geo tests or other experiment protocol (see example here)
- Investigations: Understand our acquisition performance (e.g., impact of specific offer / promotion, investigation on underperformance) or Identify new growth levers to acquire higher-value clients, particularly focusing on moving from freelancers and small companies to bigger companies.
Your Toolkit:
- Leverage advanced tools and languages such as Python / R and Snowflake to analyze data, apply statistical models, and extract actionable insights.
- Experience with PyMC-Marketing (used for MMM development) is considered a valuable asset
- Utilize your deep understanding of Statistics, Econometrics, and Machine Learning to use the right tool / methodology for every project, from simple linear regressions to time-series forecasting or Bayesian models.
- Nice-to-haves (but not essential): MLflow, PyMC, CausalPy, DVC
Consulting & Beyond:
Beyond projects, offer your expertise in a consulting capacity to support our teams and C-levels on demand. Your quick, impactful interventions will help steer immediate decisions and strategies.

Expertise: You possess significant expertise in data science and analytics, aimed at enhancing strategic business decisions - Ideally, you bring hands-on experience with Marketing Measurement and have actively contributed to Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and incrementality experiment projects, positioning you to make an immediate impact.
Mastery: You are capable of independently collecting data using SQL, proficient in exploratory analysis with Python (R is a plus), and mastering statistical and econometric tools.
Simplicity and Customer Obsession: You are driven to solve high-impact business challenges and are committed to delivering solutions that create significant business value
Communication: You enjoy collaborating with business teams and possess effective communication skills, enabling you to build alignment and clearly articulate purpose
Language: You are fluent in English.
