The mission of our Risk & Compliance team is to protect our 500,000+ customers while supporting our teams in making banking operations more efficient and secure.
You will work closely with Jérémy, our Risk & Compliance Engineering Manager, joining a dynamic team of 3 engineers. Your work will directly support our Internal Control team in their daily operations and decision-making processes.
Position:
• 6-month internship
• Start date: Mid-September to early October
👩💻🧑💻 As a Risk & Compliance Engineering Intern at Qonto, you will
• Create SQL queries and data extracts using Snowflake and Metabase to support internal control processes and help validate that internal procedures are properly aligned
• Analyze data and create visualizations through charts and dashboards to help risk & compliance teams make informed decisions
• Maintain and improve existing tools shared with risk and compliance teams, including frameworks hosted in Google Sheets/Google App Script
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders, scheduling appointments to understand requirements and ensure accurate data delivery
• Support investigation processes by providing data for Suspicious Transaction Reports and Enhanced Investigation frameworks

Your manager will be Jérémy Meliani, our Lead R&C Engineering.
His background?
Jérémy Meliani has built an impressive career in data science and analytics. He is currently the Lead R&C Engineering at Qonto, where he focuses on developing models to detect terrorism financing. Before joining Qonto, Jérémy worked as a Lead Data Analyst at Payplug and Waripay, creating data solutions for various services such as fraud detection and marketing.
What he can bring to the team?
Jérémy brings extensive experience in data analytics, having improved Financial Crime agent efficiency and ensured regulatory compliance. He's committed to setting clear objectives and tracking performance. He comes to the office daily, providing direct access for questions and guidance, and is known for his supportive leadership style.
🏅 About You
• Technical Foundation: Proficient in SQL (sub-queries are mandatory, window functions are a plus) and Python programming
• Education: Currently pursuing a Master's degree (preferably at M2 level)
• Experience: Previous internship experience is a plus, preferably in data analysis or engineering
• Learning Mindset: Eager to learn about fintech and banking compliance, Interest in data analysis and visualization
• Communication: Open-minded with strong communication skills and proactive approach to stakeholder interaction
• Languages: Professional fluency in English
