About the Role 🤔
We’re seeking a proactive and detail-driven Compliance Engineer to oversee regulatory and safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives across our global product range.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring all products meet the regulatory requirements of key markets, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. This involves working closely with product development, sourcing, legal, and manufacturing teams to deliver timely, compliant product launches while safeguarding our brand and customers. Alongside this, you’ll drive continuous improvement by collaborating with teams across the business to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement changes that enhance quality, efficiency, and processes.

What You'll Do 🔍
- Ensure products comply with relevant international and regional regulations (e.g., CE, FCC, RCM, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, SCIP, GPSR).
- Manage third-party product testing, inspections, and certification processes for plastic and electronic components.
- Collaborate with design and sourcing teams to identify and resolve compliance risks and advise on requirements for product markings.
- Monitor changes in global regulations affecting plastics, electronics, and packaging and advise impact on business products and trade.
- Coordinate responses to customer/distributors' regulatory inquiries, compliance audits or product safety incidents.
- Support global retail compliance requirements across all markets and plan for future market entries and required regulations.
- Interpreting regulatory requirements and their legal and customs implications on business and trade.
- Implement and improve internal compliance tracking and data management systems (e.g. generate DoCs or SDS, ESG/CBAM reporting, and manage PFAs/RoHS/REACH database).
- Educate internal teams and suppliers on evolving compliance requirements and product safety.
- Participate in product recalls, corrective actions, and root cause investigations, where necessary.
- Interpret data from the CX team to develop and maintain product failure rates, including using this information to evaluate product designs and implement improvements.
- Assist cross-functional teams such as Ops, Sales, and Website to ensure products are registered with required agencies to ensure sales across different platforms.
- Develop CI strategy to ensure products meet upcoming or changing regulations and undertake required design tasks for product improvements through ECR/ECO actions.
- Drive root cause analysis activities internally and with suppliers in conjunction with the QA team.
What You'll Bring 🤝
- Extensive product compliance experience, ideally in consumer electronics and/or plastic products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
- Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks affecting consumer goods (EU, US, AU, China, etc.).
- Experience with Global Product Regulations and Standards.
- Proficient in Root Cause analysis as well as interpretation of data via statistical methods.
- Experienced in SolidWorks is preferred.
- Project Management and Planning experience.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office products.
- Can-Do attitude.
- Ability to travel both locally and internationally if required.
