Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 1st Shift Lead Fabricator to lead and assist a team of welders/fabricators in fabrication and welding operations during the shift. This leadership role is crucial in ensuring seamless production workflows, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of up to 15 production associates, providing direction, support, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
    • Production Oversight: Monitor and manage daily production activities, ensuring that fabrication and welding, meet all established goals and timelines.
    • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, working alongside quality control personnel to ensure quality standards are consistently upheld.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
    • Equipment Management: Ensure that all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated, coordinating with maintenance teams to address any issues promptly.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance logs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience within a structural steel fabrication environment.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Strong understanding of welding techniques, CNC operations, and fabrication processes.
    • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and management.
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree in a related field preferred.
