Salary: $85,000 – $160,000 (DOE)

About the Role
We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting complex industrial and heavy industry projects. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving tough structural challenges, working on large-scale projects, and collaborating across disciplines. Senior engineers will also have the opportunity to lead projects and mentor junior team members.

What You’ll Do

    • Design steel structures and concrete foundations for heavy industry projects using IBC and reference codes
    • Work independently on structural projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Process)
    • Provide solutions for complex or unusual structural issues
    • Interact directly with clients and contribute to project planning and progress
    • Conduct field work and site visits to observe construction
    • Review and check drawings prepared by designers and other engineers
    • Support budgets, schedules, and project tracking
    • For senior-level engineers: lead structural design, manage projects, and mentor junior staff

What You’ll Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
    • 3+ years of experience in structural design (preferably heavy industry)
    • Licensed PE in Virginia or ability to obtain licensure
    • Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, RAM, SAP2000, etc.)
    • Experience with design tools such as RISA 3-D, Revit, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Excel, Hilti Profis, etc.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
    • Experience managing projects from estimation through completion
    • Knowledge of OSHA, masonry design, site civil design, and regulatory permitting
    • CAD drawing creation and familiarity with point clouds
    • Experience with dynamic, modal, and time history analysis
    • Ability to develop client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams

    • Compensation: $85,000 – $160,000 depending on experience.
    • Entry-level engineers without PE: starting around $85K
    • Engineers with PE and more experience: higher range up to $160K
