Job Summary: This position is responsible for preparing and processing bi-weekly payrolls for multiple entities and states.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Submit, review, and accept payrolls under the direction of the Director of Payroll
·         Establish and maintain employee payroll records
·         Manage and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards and applicable law
·         Assist with miscellaneous internal audits
·         Calculate and record payroll deductions
·         Validate employee profile changes including pay increases, department transfers, and position changes
·         Enter employee changes into HRIS system such as tax status and time position information
·         Process involuntary deductions, such as garnishments and wage levies
·         Calculate final paychecks, process quick calculations, and manual checks as required
·         Create and run reports within HRIS system
·         Assist with payroll system maintenance
·         Other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a relevant field from a four-year college or university
 
Experience:
·         Two or more years of multi-state payroll processing experience
·         Knowledge of payroll administration principles and practices
·         Working payroll tax experience at the federal, state, and local levels
 
Technical Skills:
·         Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
·         Proficiency with and/or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system
 
Soft Skills:
·         Highly organized and detail orientated
·         Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information
·         Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
·         Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
 ·        Superior time management skills
·         Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills
·         Ability to work with all levels of management and staff
 
Physical Requirements:
·         Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
·         Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
·         Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
·         Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
·         May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
