We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a global Market Risk Technology team responsible for developing software solutions that monitor and analyze the impact of market movements on the firm’s portfolio.
These applications support decision-making for senior management, risk managers, traders, and regulators across multiple regions.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-volume, performance-critical systems, using modern distributed computing tools and agile methodologies within an international, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance market risk applications processing large-scale financial data
- Collaborate in a global Agile squad alongside colleagues in North America, Europe, and Asia
- Design and build server-side, multi-threaded applications with a focus on scalability and performance
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions
- Contribute to the modernization of a mission-critical risk management platform
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Core Java (server-side), Spring, and RDBMS
- Strong object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design pattern skills
- Solid experience building multi-threaded, concurrent applications
- Proficiency in Apache Spark and understanding of distributed computing frameworks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in developing and optimizing distributed data processing pipelines (Spark, Hive, Python, etc.)
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (JUnit) and test-driven development practices
- Strong experience with relational databases and complex query optimization
- Scripting skills in Shell, Perl, or Python
- Agile software development experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and deliver clean, well-documented code
