Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and execute manual and automated test cases based on business and technical requirements;
- Perform regression testing as part of continuous delivery, using TestRail and supporting tools;
- Design and execute end-to-end tests directly on physical devices (where applicable);
- Use Postman for API testing and Graylog to investigate logs and identify backend issues;
- Write clear, structured, and reusable test cases in alignment with business flows and edge scenarios;
- Collaborate with developers in Scrum teams, contributing to quality assurance throughout the sprint lifecycle;
- Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, and fellow QA engineers to ensure a test-driven development mindset;
- Participate actively in sprint ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives);
- Document test strategies, known issues, and QA best practices using Confluence;
- Track issues and progress using Jira and ensure defects are reported, prioritized, and resolved;
- Share knowledge across the team, mentor newcomers, and help identify and fill testing gaps;
- Optional but welcome: Build and maintain test automation suites (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) and/or contribute to performance testing initiatives.
Requirements
- Solid hands-on experience with manual and automated testing in agile software development environments;
- Strong technical acumen: ability to read application logs, work with SQL for data validation, and understand basic backend behavior;
- Confident using tools such as Postman, Graylog, TestRail, Confluence, and Jira;
- Familiarity with test-driven development and experience collaborating in Scrum teams;
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset — you work well in distributed, cross-cultural teams;
- Experience writing, maintaining, and executing structured test cases and checklists;
- Understanding of software development processes and quality assurance best practices;
- Nice-to-have: Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Tosca);
- Nice-to-have: Experience or interest in performance testing tools and methodologies;
- Fluent English is required, German is a plus;
- Willingness to travel to Vienna approx. once every 1–2 months for team workshops or alignment meetings.
