Director, Investor Relations
 
QuantumScape is an energy storage technology company, located in San Jose, California. We are working on a fundamental disruption in the field of energy storage.  We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated candidate to lead investor relations for our rapidly growing organization.  By way of developing our investor relations (IR) strategy and executing on that strategy - seeking to maximize shareholder value by communicating timely, effectively, and accurately - you will serve as a critical connection between our company and the capital markets.  Central to success is commanding a detailed understanding of QuantumScape’s business, technology, partners, and investors. Responsible for writing, designing, managing, and delivering materials, as well as managing meetings and events to support investor and media relations initiatives. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to interact with ease with C-level, Board of Directors, investors, and sell-side analysts, among others. Furthermore, a strong financial acumen is critical as is initiative and the ability to operate independently.
 
In this role, you will:
·       With buy-in from key stakeholders, create and manage investor materials, including drafting written and/or or visual content for investor presentations, press releases, scripts, web pages and other key communications
·       Develop and execute an effective and integrated communications strategy
·       Manage IR conferences and roadshows, including scheduling, team participation, materials, and investor outreach
·       Support preparation and follow up for quarterly financial results conference calls, including call logistics, script and Q&A practice, post-call communications, post-event reporting of participation
·       Actively maintain relationships with existing and targeted shareholders. Manage list of key target funds/shareholders and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to periodically prioritize and evaluate targets
·       Lead ESG communication strategy; review leading standards, gather relevant information with stakeholders, engage rating agencies, publish reports
·       Support analyst interactions, including coordinating scheduling of mid-quarter and ad hoc calls, monitoring research notes, updating company understanding of consensus numbers and analyst financial models
·       Analyze peer financials, fundamentals and stock performance
Qualifications:
·       Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in automotive, energy, or high-tech investor relations or sell-side analyst research
·       Previous hands-on experience in public relations and/or investor relations activities is required; expected skills include drafting press releases and PowerPoint slides, creating and maintaining web pages, managing communications projects and supporting company presentations and investor outreach at investor conferences
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to craft text and verbal commentary appropriate for a wide range of audiences and applications, ensuring that accuracy of scientific and business details are maintained even when prose is simplified for brevity or use with non-technical audiences
·       Ability to rapidly learn critical aspects of our technology, industry, and scale-up plan– must demonstrate the desire and capacity to learn about our industry, product, customers and other key audiences; application of acquired knowledge to daily activities is critical to success in position
·       Attention to detail – able to verify and proofread own work and that of others, check facts and calculations, identify inconsistencies, and actively maintain a current understanding of company and product information.
·       Teamwork & interpersonal skills – Ability to work with others and integrate him/herself smoothly into both internal operations and with external partners including IR and PR agency relationships
Highly Desirable
·       MBA, CFA and/or additional investor or media experience
·       Scientific / technical background and expertise
·       Experience with ESG standards and related communication
