QuantumScape is seeking a Facilities Lead to join our growing team.

We are a stealth energy storage technology company, located in San Jose, California working on a fundamental disruption in the field of energy storage. We seek to change the paradigm in energy storage by developing a completely new class of electrical energy storage device. If successful, the technology could revolutionize the industry. We are backed by top VC firms and based on work done by researchers at Stanford University. We are looking to grow our team with the addition of a motivated individual who is seeking technical challenges and professional growth. 
   
In this role, you will: 

Manage our BMS system to maximize uptime & eliminate unscheduled down-time:
Ensure set-up & reporting accuracy
Analyze data to optimize facilities operations to minimize costs and improve performance. 
Document preventative maintenance intervals, keep maintenance SOP’s and maintenance logs. 
 
Manage Facilities Contractors
Develop and update PM schedule & related documentation
Schedule and manage maintenance contractors and ensure quality and timely execution of project work as well as PMs
Manage janitorial contractor & snack vendor.  This includes managing onsite day porter to ensure entire facility is maintained to standards and snacks are stocked
Quickly assess complexity of facilities issues and determine best course of action.  This includes personally fixing the issue or evaluating and selecting a contractor to resolve the issue.
 
Support New equipment installs & moves
Develop project timelines & coordinate with cross functional team members and external contractors to ensure successful execution of these projects
 
Minimum Requirements: 
Education & Experience:
You have a technical degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a facilities systems or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a facilities maintenance and management role where you simultaneously managed multiple, small projects
You used internal databases to search for and enter information and are comfortable with MS Office applications – Experience with SharePoint and OneNote is a plus!
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
You have a basic understanding of facilities systems such as plumbing, HVAC, clean dry air (CDA), gas delivery, chillers, process cooling water (PCW), chilled water, dehumidifiers, power delivery, vacuum pumps, and hazmat storage
You prioritize and adjust your time to align with company priorities
You’re able to effectively interface with internal customers at all levels and possess a calm and professional demeanor and able and willing to personally fix low complexity facilities issues (bulb and ballast changes, simple plumbing fixes, etc) to ensure quick closure
You’re self-motivated and creative - a positive and open thinker. You work effectively in teams and independently. You have an autonomous working style and are capable of handling multiple small projects and many internal customers.
You are safety focused and perform all work in accordance with safety policies and procedures
 
Physical Requirements:
Requires extensive fine finger dexterity, including simple and firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive movements, including typing, and using hand tools. 
Frequently requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
Occasionally requires climbing to work in elevated positions and lifting from floor, waist-level, or overhead materials weighing from 10 to 50 pounds
