R&D Technician, CWW Nights- (Sun-Tues, Alternate Saturdays)

We are seeking a motivated and conscientious technician to join our Cell Engineering team. You will work with a small team to assemble devices and correlate observations with performance in order to inform process improvement. The current shift for this role is a compressed 12 hr day workweek. Sunday through Tuesday alternate Saturday nights. 


Consistently executing S.O.P. and product/process specifications to accurately assemble cell devices in a prototype facility, fixture assemblies, and perform mechanical tests.
Periodically auditing the process to ensure high-quality cells.
Monitoring and recording key parameters during assembly. You will communicate discrepancies found in prototype assembly lines to the team lead
Maintaining and minor troubleshooting and repair of equipment and accurately documenting calibration and maintenance records and material inventory
Clearly and concisely communicating task completion status to your team members and manager through verbal and written pass-downs using MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook and OneNote)
Maintaining a clean work-space and safe work environment

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

A high-school diploma and five years’ experience as a technician in a dynamic R&D environment with at least two years’ working with prototype assembly in a lab using precision equipment such as jigs, fixtures, die sets, and semi-automated assembly equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Thorough, diligent, is and capable of completing tasks with minimal errors
Deliver on throughput and quality expectations under tight schedules. You are flexible and can adapt to a fast-changing environment and work priorities
Comfortable working with computers: quality systems, databases and MS Office products
Eager to learn new techniques and have demonstrated the ability to learn and apply new skills
Autonomous, personable, positive and a good team member
Organized, thorough and have clear written and verbal communication skills
Able to work independently, but also enjoy working with a team
Willing to work overtime on short notice.
Basic knowledge of word processing programs, spreadsheets, email platforms
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a glovebox, dry room or fume hood that requires the use of fine motor skills for extended periods of time, standing, reaching and twisting motions with hands and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time while performing hands-on work

Any of the following is plus:

A two-year technical degree
Experience working within a Li-ion Battery lab or in gloveboxes, fume hoods or dry room
Ultrasonic welding, sealing equipment, weigh balance, toggle presses
Using JMP software
