THE ROLE:
You will have the opportunity to lead the scale-up of manufacturing processes that will grow us from R&D to pilot and volume manufacturing. You will be a catalyst in setting up a pilot line for manufacturing battery samples. Key outcomes for this role include the achievement of yield & reliability objectives that will enable us to deliver reliable devices to customers within a defined time-frame.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and develop a team of talented process engineering leads, engineers, domain experts, and technicians while fostering a safe and positive work environment for all team members. Identify, hire and retain talent to support the company’s scale-up objectives
-Develop and scale-up manufacturing processes based on existing R&D processes, dial-in processes on larger volume tools, qualify tool automation hardware to increase large volume of part production while ensuring continuous improvements in yield and reliability to meet our scale-up objectives
-Apply your previous experience in equipment sourcing and vendor management to plan and manage the process engineering aspects of capital projects
-Collaborate with our executive team and customers to provide guidance and updates on our technical progress

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
Education & Experience:
-MS degree in Materials Engineering (or a related field) and a minimum of 8 years' experience in volume/precision manufacturing of fine chemicals or precision parts
-5 years' of experience effectively leading engineers to successfully execute against ambitious timelines 
-Demonstrated expertise in successfully scaling processes from R&D to pilot or volume manufacturing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Have superior interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to effectively negotiate requirements, resources, and timelines in an R&D environment 
-Demonstrated ability to balance the big picture with the details and can shift between strategic, tactical, and operational modes seamlessly 
-Take a disciplined approach which relies on the application of statistical methods for experiment planning, data analysis, and process control
-Be familiar with MES system, quality management systems requirements and are able to develop and implement control plan methodology

Experience in any of the following areas is a definite plus:
Ceramic processing; scaling to high volume manufacturing; implementing MES and QMS
