In response to fast-growing need for data, we are building our battery test team. We are seeking an expert and diligent R&D Technician to join our existing team.

The Role:
In this role you will help QuantumScape achieve success by supporting production and characterization of materials used in batteries. You will have responsibilities that include:
-  collaborating with scientists and engineers to put the devices through a range of battery tests;
-  preparing test devices for successful test execution;
-  scheduling, configuring and performing electrical tests, making sure that tests start in a timely manner;
-  ensuring devices, tests, and results are handled with care and properly recorded error-free;
-  building and wiring of test fixtures and systems to ensure the lab increases its capacity and capability to meet new requirements;
-  ensuring the integrity of test data through the careful execution of procedures and communication of issues;
-  maintaining the organization and function of the laboratory space and equipment including preventive maintenance and calibration;
-  ensuring the ongoing success of the test lab by engaging in continuous improvement in safety, delivery and quality.


Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience
You will possess a minimum of a high school diploma with at least 5 years of experience as a technician in a dynamic R&D environment, with an emphasis on electrical engineering and 2 years of performing electrical testing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
In your previous roles you acquired the following knowledge, skills and abilities that you will use in this position:
-       excellent familiarity with computer operation with the ability to run automated testing, transfer and validate data files;
-       strong collaboration and teamwork, including clear and open communication; to ensure issues with samples and tests
are quickly addressed;
-       good organizational skills and you have careful attention to the smallest of details;
-       an ability to work independently;
-       you possess and use good analytical skills;
-       you are motivated for success;
-       a knowledge of electrical circuits and testing.

Any of the following are a plus
In addition to the above, the following will help you be successful:
-       a technical degree from a program of at least 2 years duration;
-       you have experience with commercial battery test equipment
-       experience in building basic electrical hardware with mechanical assembly, wire stripping and cable assembly, and
soldering of components;
-       knowledge of secondary (rechargeable) battery components and electrical characteristics;
-       knowledge of glovebox operation with ability to perform basic glovebox work.

The current shift for this position is 3:00pm to 11:30pm, Monday to Friday.
