This is an opportunity to lead the development of manufacturing processes that will scale us from R&D to pilot and volume manufacturing. You will be a catalyst in setting up a pilot line for manufacturing battery samples. Key deliverables for this role include achievement of yield & reliability objectives that will enable us to deliver reliable devices to customers within a defined time-frame.
Lead and develop a team of talented process engineering leads, engineers, domain experts and technicians while fostering a safe and positive work environment for all team members. Identify, hire and retain talent to support the company’s scale-up objectives
Develop manufacturing processes based on existing R&D processes while ensuring continuous improvements in yield and reliability to meet our scale-up objectives
Leverage your previous experience in equipment sourcing and vendor management to plan and manage the process engineering aspects of capital projects
Collaborate with our executive team and customers to provide guidance and updates on our technical progress
Education & Experience:
You possess an MS degree in Materials Engineering (or a related field) and have at least 8 years' experience in volume/precision manufacturing of fine chemicals or precision parts
You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in effectively leading a team of engineers to execute against aggressive timelines
You have demonstrated expertise in successfully scaling processes from R&D to pilot or volume manufacturing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Your superior interpersonal and communication skills allow you to effectively negotiate requirements, resources and timelines in an R&D environment
You are able to balance the big picture with the details and can shift between strategic, tactical and operational modes seamlessly
You are disciplined in your approach and rely on the application of statistical methods for experiment planning, data analysis, and process control
You are familiar with quality management systems requirements and are able to develop and implement control plan methodology
Experience in the any of the following areas are a definite plus:
Ceramic processing; scaling to high volume manufacturing; implementing quality management systems
