We’re hiring a Capital Projects Manager to help build out a world-class R&D and pilot-production facility at QuantumScape. You will join a small team charged with ensuring the company can rapidly scale its operations to commercialize the company’s groundbreaking energy storage technology.

In this role, you will:
Establish a robust end-to-end capital project process: you will craft the procedures used to manage complex equipment acquisitions and facility improvement projects across the company
Coordinate major equipment acquisition projects: you will be the go-to person for all things related to each piece of equipment we purchase; you will work with the team to define specifications, develop relationships with vendors, evaluate vendor proposals, help select the winning proposal, and manage all communications with the vendor
Lead installation projects for large tools: installing large, custom-built equipment often requires changes to our facility - you will lead these projects, working with a diverse team of architects, engineers, contractors and city officials to get equipment installed smoothly and safely
Plan our future facilities: you will contribute to the planning of our next-generation production facilities, identifying vendors and gathering lead-time and cost estimates for high-volume manufacturing equipment
Communicate the status of current projects: the projects you lead are critically important to the future of the company - you will meet routinely with management and the research and production teams (the equipment's future users) to keep everyone informed and on the same page

Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
You have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, industrial or mechanical), business, construction management, or another technical field and a minimum of 3 years' experience in project management or an advanced degree and minimum of 1 year of experience

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
You are organized, pay attention to the details, and have strong project management skills
You are an exceptional communicator

Highly Desired:
Previous experience working in a similar capacity at a leading manufacturing, logistics, or consulting firm
Proficiency in CAD and/or SketchUp
