We are looking for an experienced engineer to help accelerate the development and optimization of formulations and processes for screen printing applications.
In this role, you will leverage your experience and expertise in thick film development to improve our paste production process in support of scale-up activities across the organization. Your responsibilities will include:
Driving process control and continuous improvement efforts on thick film production
Performing research and development using design-of-experiment methodology and statistical analysis to demonstrate conclusive results
Effectively communicating your results and recommendations to management
Iterating on results rapidly to accelerate the rate of learning
Developing and maintaining operating procedures, and work instructions to ensure precise execution by supporting team members
Carrying out all responsibilities in accordance with all safety procedures
Experience and education
BS in ceramic engineering, materials science, chemical engineering or related field
12 years of industry experience with thick film materials development and significant expertise in screen printing coating methods
You have successfully developed and helped scale novel processes to pilot/production
You have worked with cross functional teams that have delivered breakthrough process improvements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
You have knowledge of mixing and milling methods and characterization of rheological properties for thick film development, specifically for screen printing applications.
You are capable of ramping up equipment and processes to pilot scale and beyond
You have demonstrated the ability to drive projects to completion
You are self-motivated and have a track record of learning new skills and techniques and applying those to achieve results
You thrive in a fast paced, technically challenging and quickly adapt to changes
You are a strong communicator and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to tackle technical challenges
MS or PhD in the relevant fields
May work with airtight isolation chambers and/or wear neoprene or vinyl gloves for 15-30% of the time
May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist
May be required to use hand or power tools.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, push and extend arms.
