R&D Technician, Analytical (Day Shift - Tue to Sat)

We are looking for a diligent R&D Technician to support method development and physical analysis work. Our ideal team member is a skilled process technician, who is meticulous and can work effectively in teams and independently.
The current schedule for this position is a Tuesday - Saturday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; however; flexibility is very important in our dynamic environment!
YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
•Applying your previous experience to prepare samples and test and analyze them using various analytical tools and instruments to consistently deliver high quality, and reliable test results
•Precisely executing SOP's and written and verbal instruction from requestors, tool owners and group manager
•Managing sample submission queues to achieve high throughput and fast turnaround
•Monitoring and recording key parameters and data during analysis
•Maintaining and minor troubleshooting and repair of analytical instruments and accurately documenting calibration and maintenance records
•Clearly and concisely communicating task completion status to your team members and manager through verbal and written pass-downs using MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook and OneNote)
•Performing all duties in a safe manner
Education & Experience:
•You possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical testing and working in analytical laboratory or department using analytical tools, such as ICP-OES, XRD
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
•You're comfortable working with computer applications and using databases for searching and entering information
•Motivated by new challenges, learn quickly and enjoy learning new techniques and refining existing techniques;
•You're able to work independently, but also enjoy working with a team and can deliver on throughput and quality expectations under tight schedules
•Able and willing work evenings, weekends with rand flexible to work overtime on short notice.
•Ability to perform work in a glovebox, dry room or fume hood that requires the use of fine motor skills for extended periods of time, standing, reaching and twisting motions with hands and lifting up to 10 lbs.
ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ARE A PLUS!
•A technical degree from a 2-year program
•Knowledge and/or work experience in analytical chemistry, X-ray techniques, surface analysis
•Working experience in chemical handling and safe laboratory practices
