We are a well-funded start-up located in San Jose, California with a new energy storage technology that will allow electric vehicles to outperform internal combustion cars. We have enabled a step-change in performance with a different chemistry and cell architecture that also benefits safety.
Do you want to make a major contribution to this part of the energy economy? As a senior material scientist on the material development team, you will lead efforts to realize high energy, power and stable electrode layer on our next generation solid-state energy storage.

Responsibilities:

Development of state-of-the-art surface modification technologies for all-solid-state battery.
Analysis of structure and charge transfer characteristic at hetero interfaces of multiple layered materials.
Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to develop processing methods for groundbreaking battery materials.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
At least 2 years of combined professional and academic experience in material science or related fields.
Share a passion for our mission.
Have a track record materials development (both synthesis and analysis).
Thrive in a dynamic, technically-challenging environment, and quickly adapt to changes.
Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to tackle complex challenges.
Minimum requirements:
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization; clearly and logically able to convey ideas and thought processes, both verbally and in writing.

Highly desired:

Domain expertise in one or more areas related to manufacturing or physical sciences.
Expertise in analysis of complex chemical systems.
Experience in establish the concept of research and experimental design.
Experience in leading a project.
