Quartzy is seeking a Virtual Lab Manager to be the driving force behind our innovative BioPASS procurement program. In this role, you'll be the strategic and operational cornerstone for our customers, providing seamless purchasing services that empower the world’s leading life science organizations to focus on what they do best—the science.
Quartzy is a 100% distributed team so this role can be done anywhere in the US.

With a strong sense of urgency and excellent communication skills, you're ready to become a trusted advisor to the labs you support.
As a key founding member of the BioPASS team, you will be an essential operational partner for our customers. This role requires a unique blend of scientific understanding, procurement expertise, and a passion for customer advocacy.

What You’ll Do
- Run point on ordering. You'll handle purchasing from start to finish for multiple R&D labs, making sure scientists get what they need, when they need it.
- Solve problems before they happen. Stay one step ahead of supply chain issues to keep research moving forward without a hitch.
- Optimize for value. You'll actively source products, compare vendor pricing, and find deals to ensure your labs' budgets are maximized without compromising on quality.
- Drive account success. You'll be their go-to Quartzy person, helping labs scale efficiently by improving their internal processes and software adoption.
- Be the customer’s biggest advocate. Build meaningful relationships with your customers and be their voice inside the company.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of purchasing experience in a life sciences lab or company, with a strong understanding of R&D workflows.
- Meticulous attention to detail while juggling competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a high sense of urgency and excellent time management.
- and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Ability to travel to customer sites or vendor shows 4-6 times per year.
- Bonus points for customer-facing experience, proficiency with procurement/accounting software (NetSuite, QBO), or previous work in a fast-growing startup.

$70,000 - $100,000 a year

Quartzy takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. The pay scale salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (sales roles) range for this position based on all US locations. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Salary/OTE is just one component of our total rewards package. The pay scale or OTE ranges may be modified in the future.
Salary range: USD $70,000- USD $100,000
