We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant/Controller to oversee all aspect of the accounting functions within a specific geographical cluster, various aspects of statutory compliance, financial control, taxation,  and team leadership. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, implement effective financial controls, and drive accurate and timely reporting.
 
The ideal candidate will directly manage one junior accountant and will partner closely with the wider Finance team based in London as well as with R3 internal stakeholders. Also, will play a crucial role in the development of the finance team in India and contribute to strategic projects as directed by the Group Financial Controller/Group Finance Director and it will act as main point of contact and “go-to” person for the Indian subsidiary.

Responsibilities:

    • Management Accounting -
    • Responsible for the timing the delivery of month end management accounting, ensuring completion of multi-currency postings for the countries in the designated cluster.
    • Ensure complete and accurate balance sheet positions are maintained and are supported through monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of the monthly close for the countries in the designated cluster.
    • Ensure the legal entities have appropriate financial controls in place and adhere to Group-wide policies.
    • Work with the Transaction teams (AP/AR/Intercompany) to ensure that transactions are accounted for accurately and timely.
    • Monthly preparation and review of the balance sheet reconciliations to ensure that all accounts are adequately reconciled and that all aged items are resolved in a timely manner (30 days).
    • Accurate and timely completion of the close schedules for submission to the UK.
    • Work with external providers, reviewing and managing the output provided into R3s compliance processes.
    • In conjunction with the wider Finance Team ensure R3 stays compliant with the latest legislation affecting the Financial Statements and Financial compliance.
    • Taxation -
    • Responsible for local country regulatory compliance for the designated cluster including VAT & Corporate Tax. 
    • Ensure all direct and indirect tax returns are completed, filed and paid on time.
    • Work with external providers to prepare annual tax returns and filings.
    • Liaise with auditors and tax accountants to ensure clean audit report and no issues with tax reporting for the designated cluster.
    • Finance Team -
    • Responsible for coaching the Junior Accountant, providing structure to day to day and longer-term tasks.
    • Contribute to the development of the wider Global Finance team.
    • Further accounting and finance responsibilities as appropriate to the development of the R3 Finance team in India
    • Projects / Ad hoc -
    • Ad hoc projects and other tasks as advised by the Group Financial Controller/Group Finance Director.

Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Qualified Accountant with significant experience in Audit and multiple currency reporting
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (US GAAP desirable).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Working knowledge of NetSuite is essential.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Fluency in English is mandatory.

Nice to haves:

    • Software or Tech / Professional Services background preferred but not essential.
