About your Internship:
We are seeking a Legal & Compliance Intern to join our global in-house Legal Team.  R3’s Legal Team provides support to and collaborates with stakeholders across R3’s organization, including the commercial, product, engineering, and professional services teams. Some of our day-to-day activities include negotiating commercial contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements; ensuring R3 is compliant with applicable laws, contractual obligations and policies; reviewing and contributing to commercial proposals; and reviewing corporate documents.  This internship is an opportunity for you to work alongside and learn from our close-knit team comprising 4 attorneys of varying levels of experience, based in both London and New York.

Engage in weekly one-to-one sessions with your manager to discuss feedback and set goals for the upcoming week. Gain insights from leaders across the organisation, offering you a holistic view of how a pioneering tech start-up operates from Product to Sales. Showcase your work, learn from experienced team members, and make the most of the opportunities presented during your internship.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with template agreement updates and other processes surrounding software license agreements, statements of work, and professional services agreements
    • Assist with non-disclosure and vendor agreement reviews
    • Conduct sanctions checks, update compliance policies and assist with other compliance-related matters
    • Perform ad hoc research projects
    • Assist with ongoing intellectual property portfolio maintenance and open source software issues
    • Assist with data privacy audit
    • Manage contract database
    • Assist with corporate and real estate matters as needed

Education & Experience:

    • Undergraduate degree in law or PGDL is a must
    • Analytic and diagnostic skills are a must
    • Interest in start-ups, fintech and/or blockchain technology is a must
    • Experience working on an in-house legal team and/or private practice is a plus
    • International experience is a plus

Additional Information:

    • Please note that our Summer internship will be running from June-September 2024 and we can therefore only consider applicants who can commit to these time frames.
    • Moreover, we cannot provide sponsorship for this position so candidates will need to have the right to work in the UK if they are to be considered.
