What you will do:
- Oversee the daily operations of the grain elevator site
- Collaborate with operational leadership and plan for grain storage and harvest needs.
- Schedule elevator activities and delegates to employees throughout the site.
- Ensure operational productivity and efficiency goals are achieved.
- Assist in the proper receiving, weighing, grading, testing, binning, storing, handling, drying, and loading of incoming and outgoing grain for the site.
- Oversee the grain quality and inventory management for the site.
- Manage pest control and lead the bin and elevator fogging schedules with external vendors as needed.·
- Lead required plant sanitation including general clean-up of facility and grounds.
- Operate railcar loading systems and equipment.
- Follow all FDA, State, City, and Company guidelines for food safety handling and facility sanitation.
What you will need:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 5+ years of grain handling elevator experience with proficiency in grain millwrighting and/or grain facility maintenance.
- Previous experience managing a remote site.
- Ability to adjust schedule based on seasonality requirements during harvest.
- Ability to routinely manually lift parts, equipment, and other objects exceeding 50 lbs.
- Ability to occasionally come in contact with dust, heat, cold, and chemicals.
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for most of a shift.
- Goal-driven leader that understands operational metrics, takes ownership of individual and team results, and creates accountability to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Strong technical skills and understanding of plant processes and equipment.
- Proven knowledge and ongoing compliance with safety and security procedures with the ability to determine appropriate action beyond guidelines and the proper use of equipment and materials.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to proactively initiate contact and build strong, lasting working relationships.
- Proven ability to understand the impacts job decisions have in direct relationship to costs, quality, energy usage, plant efficiencies, and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated responsiveness and reaction with appropriate urgency to situations and events.
- Strong problem solver that can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information and developing alternative solutions.
- Proven accuracy and thoroughness abilities with demonstrated ways to improve and promote quality individually and as a team leader.
